FUND-A-NEED
"Raise your paddle" to support the Kathy Krueger Student Support Fund
Every student deserves the chance to succeed, regardless of a family's financial circumstances. The Kathy Krueger Student Support Fund helps give every Prep student in need that chance. The Student Support Fund assists families with non-tuition expenses such as Surfaces, books, meals, and transportation.
This year the Fund has also helped students and families with unanticipated needs brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. Prep assisted families in dire need due to unemployment and other devastating setbacks by helping with utility bills, meal deliveries, rent payments, and even gifts to young children so there would be at least one present under the tree coming Christmas morning.
These expenses – both the customary ones and those created due to the pandemic – have significantly depleted the Student Support Fund. We ask that our community respond generously as we try to build the fund back up so that we can continue to serve Prep families in need in upcoming years.
The fund was named to honor Kathy Krueger’s 40-year career at Prep, including decades as Director of the College Counseling program she founded. She is currently the Alumni Director, Emeritus. Kathy often states, providing non-tuition assistance to students in need “is one of the best things we do at Prep!” Please raise that paddle high and support our community in this essential work.
